Job Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy mobile equipment, including but not limited to front-end loaders, backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, and haul trucks.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily or pre-shift inspections on vehicles and operate them safely.
• Operate all mobile and heavy-duty equipment on site (dozers, loaders, haul trucks, etc.).
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, orderly, and safe.
• Comply with company safety rules and regulations.
• Perform maintenance/repair, yard loading, and other duties as needed.
• Understand, interpret, and execute verbal and written instructions.
• Schedule or call for repairs and parts.
• Recognize potentially hazardous situations.
• Adhere to all safety standards and wear proper safety equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience operating heavy equipment.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including overtime and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Flexibility with scheduling.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; bilingual is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and outdoor environments.
• Must handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Wear protective gear at all times.

Physical Requirements

• Perform tasks involving walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
• Communicate effectively around heavy equipment.
