Job Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy mobile equipment, including but not limited to, front end loaders, backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, and haul trucks.

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct daily or pre-shift inspections on vehicles and operate them safely.
2. Operate all mobile and heavy-duty equipment on site (dozers, loaders, haul trucks, etc.).
3. Perform clean-up work to keep tools, equipment, and work areas safe and orderly.
4. Comply with company safety rules and regulations.
5. Be versatile in performing other duties such as maintenance/repair and yard loading when needed.
6. Understand, interpret, and execute instructions in both verbal and written form.
7. Schedule or call for repairs and parts.
8. Recognize potentially hazardous situations.
9. Adhere to all CEMEX and OSHA rules and regulations.
10. Wear proper safety equipment on plant grounds.
11. Meet or exceed safety standards.
12. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 2 years experience operating heavy equipment.
2. High School diploma or GED.
3. Minimum 5 years of related experience.
4. Ability to work scheduled shift hours, including overtime and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Flexibility with scheduling, overtime, and weekends.
2. Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual skills are a plus.

Working Conditions

1. Exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor environments.
2. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
3. Wear protective equipment at all times.

Physical Requirements

1. Perform tasks involving walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing.
2. Lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.
3. Communicate effectively around heavy equipment.
4. Perform all job functions including pushing, turning, and pulling controls.
