Job summary

Lehigh Hanson Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Pennsylvania to safely operate excavators, loaders, and dozers on demanding highway construction sites.

You will perform routine maintenance, coordinate with site supervisors, and help meet project timelines while upholding safety standards. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid CDL, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalency) AND prior relevant job experience.
• CDL license (A or B) with Tanker endorsement is preferred.
• Valid/Clean Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Varied schedule including day/night and weekends.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment (excavator/loader preferred).
• Knowledge of site work methods and safety precautions.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, loaders, and dozers safely and efficiently in heavy highway construction environments
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborate with site supervisors and crew members to meet project timelines and safety standards
• Follow site-specific safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents immediately
• Assist with material movement, grading, and site preparation as directed

Qualifications

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must have the ability to work a varied schedule of day shift, night shift, and weekends due to construction contracts
• Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment (excavator and loader experience preferred)
• Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc
• Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
