Job description

Responsible for overall execution of boiler operation activities for entire branch for an assigned time frame. Working under the direction of the Plant Maintenance manager or Plant Manager, manages boiler operation to ensure standardized, safe, and efficient processes. Monitor, test, and repair boiler equipment in facility as needed. Provide scheduled maintenance to equipment per branch protocol.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

--Performing preventative maintenance as well as routine and emergency repairs in the Boiler Room while adhering to a strict culture of safety.

--Monitoring boiler operation, as well as collecting and recording data.

--Completes work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.

--Operates powered equipment.

--Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on Boiler equipment (electronic and electrical equipment, etc.) according to safety and quality procedures.

--Provides information to management to enhance Customer Service success.

--Follows up with other departments to ensure issues have been resolved timely open/close procedures.

--Participates in cleaning the equipment as appropriate.

--Completes appropriate paperwork in a timely manner.

--Adheres to all department and company standards, operating procedures and safety requirements while contributing to improvement.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

--Troubleshooting skills.

--Industrial Laundry experience a plus but not necessary.

--Previous Wastewater Treatment knowledge a plus

--Dedication to promoting a strong culture of safety.

Experience/Qualifications:

--Specific licenses depend on state requirements:

----Lawrance/Boston: Minimum 2nd Class Fireman’s License

--High school diploma or equivalent required, post-high school education/training preferred.

Working Environment/Safety Requirements:

--Work is performed in a boiler room of a high-volume production facility setting and regularly exposed to extreme heat and cold conditions as well as dust and noise.

--Requires bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, and lifting.

--Requires the use of hands for grasping and other manipulations.

--Requires standing and walking for long periods of time; (i.e., on one's feet for eight hours a day on a concrete floor in a hot humid environment).

--Must be able to work from elevated heights using ladders, mezzanines, and aerial lifts.

--Must be able to bend, twist, reach, pull, push, and routinely lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to fifty pounds.
