Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Temple, TX seeks an Operator A - Rolls Manufacturing to run a Loop Slitter or Convolute and produce foam components for external customers. You will follow production schedules, perform quality checks, and communicate with supervisors to keep operations aligned with safety and quality standards.

This role requires forklift certification, basic math and reading skills, and the ability to lift 35–50 lbs. The position offers health benefits and a profit-sharing plan.

Qualifications

• Must read a basic tape measure and understand measurements.
• Must have basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Must have some computer experience and be able to use a computer in day to day operations.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice.
• Must have the ability to perform minor maintenance on the machinery.
• Must have the ability to become a Certified Forklift Operator.
• Must be able to lift or adjust heavy pieces of foam - 35 to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Loop Slitter and/or the Convolute within established operating standards.
• Verify proper operation of equipment and report problems to Supervisor/maintenance.
• Make manual adjustments based on product specifications.
• Prepare foam slab material by cutting and gluing for loading into machines.
• Conduct quality checks on all materials to ensure specifications are met.
• Maintain a neat, safe, and orderly work environment.
• Follow the production schedule to cut slabs of foam for internal and external customers.
