Job summary

Creative Foam is seeking a 2nd shift Operator to run polyurethane (PU) molding equipment and ensure product quality at our Dayton, OH facility. You will start up machines, verify tooling, and maintain production data and labeling throughout the shift.

Work hours are 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within a clean, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate PU molding machinery and support tooling.
• Maintain machine parameters and quality checks.
• Record data accurately on production boards and systems.

Responsibilities

• Start up PU machines and verify line tooling.
• Inspect machines for leaks and proper operation.
• Prepare and maintain tooling for production and wax prep.
• Maintain correct parameter set points and data entry.
• Label and manage molded parts to quality standards.
• Support 5S and cleanliness in the work area.
• Escalate equipment or quality issues promptly.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Major Function

An Operator is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of their assigned polyurethane (PU) Machine.

Essential Functions

• Start up the machines in a timely manner.
  • Parts coming off the line at the start of scheduled shift.
• Inspect and verify the working condition of the PU machine and its assigned tooling for ISO, Poly, hydraulic, water and air leaks.
• Prepare and maintain the tooling for production.
  • Verify the tools are cleaned and ready to shoot.
  • Wax preparation.
• Maintain correct machine parameter set points throughout the production shift.
  • Cross reference the check sheet posted on the line.
• Ensure that all necessary data is correctly entered into Plex and the line white board is properly filled out and maintained.
• Ensure that source inventories related to the molding operation are correctly labeled and maintained.
  • Material Verification Process
• Ensure the assigned PU machine is producing foam that meets quality requirements and policies.
• Perform basic maintenance on the PU machine that ensures the foam meets quality requirement and policies.
  • Pressure adjustments, Orifice cleaning and turning tools on/off.
• Ensure that parts being produced during the molding operation are correctly labeled and maintained to quality requirements and policies.
  • PICCI Process
  • Alerts appropriate personnel of quality or equipment deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Escalation process.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintains a clean work area and assists in maintaining the company 5S system.
  • Follows Creative Foam / Dayton Molded Urethanes policies and procedures and promotes the organizations safety efforts.
  • Positively reinforces production goals, standards, and work ethic in work area(s) as well as the entire facility.
  • Performs other tasks as required.
