Creative Foam Corporation in Dayton, OH is seeking an Operator to manage the polyurethane (PU) molding line. The role ensures efficient operation of the assigned PU machine, maintenance of tooling, and accurate data entry for quality control.

Responsibilities include starting machines, inspecting equipment, maintaining set points, labeling parts, and supporting continuous improvement in a clean, safe 5S environment.

Responsibilities

• Start up the PU machines in a timely manner.
• Inspect the PU machine and tooling for ISO, Poly, hydraulic, water and air leaks; verify condition.
• Prepare and maintain tooling for production.
• Verify tools are cleaned and ready to shoot.
• Wax preparation for tooling.
• Maintain correct machine parameter set points during shifts.
• Cross reference the line check sheet.
• Enter data into Plex and keep line whiteboard updated.
• Label and maintain inventories related to molding operations.
• Ensure foam meets quality requirements and policies.
• Perform basic maintenance: adjust pressure, clean orifices, turn tools on/off.
• Label and maintain parts to quality requirements.
• Alert personnel of quality or equipment deficiencies; follow escalation process.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Keep a clean work area and support 5S system.
• Follow safety policies and promote organizational safety efforts.
• Reinforce production goals and work ethic across the facility.
• Perform other tasks as required.

MAJOR FUNCTION:

An Operator is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of their assigned polyurethane (PU) Machine.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Start up the machines in a timely manner.

   1. Parts coming off the line at the start of scheduled shift.

2. Inspect and verify the working condition of the PU machine and its assigned tooling for ISO, Poly, hydraulic, water and air leaks.

3. Prepare and maintain the tooling for production.

   1. Verify the tools are cleaned and ready to shoot.

   2. Wax preparation.

4. Maintain correct machine parameter set points throughout the production shift.

   1. Cross reference the check sheet posted on the line.

5. Ensure that all necessary data is correctly entered into Plex and the line white board is properly filled out and maintained.

6. Ensure that source inventories related to the molding operation are correctly labeled and maintained.

   1. Material Verification Process

7. Ensure the assigned PU machine is producing foam that meets quality requirements and policies.
   

8. Perform basic maintenance on the PU machine that ensures the foam meets quality requirement and policies.

   1. Pressure adjustments, Orifice cleaning and turning tools on/off.

9. Ensure that parts being produced during the molding operation are correctly labeled and maintained to quality requirements and policies.

   1. PICCI Process

10. 10. Alerts appropriate personnel of quality or equipment deficiencies in a timely manner. Escalation process.

11. 11. Actively participates in continuous improvement activities.

12. 12. Maintains a clean work area and assists in maintaining the company 5S system.

13. 13. Follows Creative Foam / Dayton Molded Urethanes policies and procedures and promotes the organizations safety efforts.

14. 14. Positively reinforces production goals, standards, and work ethic in work area(s) as well as the entire facility.

15. 15. Performs other tasks as required.
