Job summary

Creative Foam Corp in Athens, TN seeks a Material Handler to ensure production lines receive materials and maintain 5S standards. You will stock lines, coordinate with support staff, and help keep inventory accurate while promoting a safe, efficient work environment.

Role focuses on timely delivery of materials, forklift safety, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and smooth production operations.

Responsibilities

• Stock all production lines with necessary boxes/pallets and totes.
• Ensure timely delivery of all raw materials to the production lines.
• Maintain 5S practices and a clean work area throughout the facility.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, supervision, tooling and quality to resolve issues.
• Follows company policies and procedures and promotes safety across the facility.

Major Function

A Material Handler ensures that all production lines have the necessary material to successfully run production during the designated shift. He/she also facilitates material movement, material staging, and basic inventory management throughout the facility while maintaining 5S practices.

Essential Functions

• Complete all required audits that apply to the position.
• Ensure that the forklift, in use, is safe for use.
• Stock all production lines with necessary boxes/pallets and totes.
• Ensure the timely delivery of all raw materials to the production lines.
• Ensure all production lines have the processing aids needed for production.
• Stage material throughout the facility.
• Ensure physical inventory locations match Plex locations.
• Cycle Inventory.
• Maintains appropriate documentation, physically and electronically.
• Follows Creative Foam / Dayton Molded Urethanes policies and procedures.
• Works with support staff (engineering, maintenance, supervision, tooling, quality) to resolve issues.
• Alerts appropriate personnel of deviations/deficiencies in their work areas in a timely manner.
• Alerts appropriate personnel of equipment issues in a timely manner.
• Actively participates in continuous improvement activities.
• Maintains a clean work area and assists in maintaining a clean facility whenever possible.
• Follows Creative Foam/Dayton Molded Urethanes policies and procedures.
• Promotes the organization’s safety efforts and maintains a safe working environment.
• Positively reinforces production goals, standards, and work ethic in their area as well as the entire facility.
• Maintains 5S systems throughout the facility.
• Performs other tasks as required.

Hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

6:00 am - 6:30 pm
