Job summary

Aerotek in Elgin, IL is seeking a General Laborer to support machine operations in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. You will help with material handling, cleaning, and maintaining safety in a fast-paced setting.

The Operator will assist machine operators and handle basic packaging tasks, with lifting up to 60 lbs and strict attention to detail. This contract-to-hire role offers weekly pay and comprehensive benefits on-site.

Qualifications

• 2 years of machine operating or fast-paced general labor experience.
• Ability to read a measuring tape and ruler and use basic shop math.
• Experience in high-speed packaging, labeling, and handling.
• Must work with urgency without compromising quality.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly.

Job Title: Operator

• Aid and assist machine operators in bringing materials to the equipment and operators.

• Clean the work area and move product to the baler, garbage, etc.

• Maintain a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols.

• Perform minor janitorial tasks such as sweeping floors and taking out the garbage.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of machine operating or fast-paced general labor experience.

• Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler, and use basic shop math.

• Capability to work in a high-speed packaging environment, package, and label.

• Work with a sense of urgency without compromising attention to detail and quality.

• Comfortable with lifting up to 60 lbs. throughout the day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
