Job summary

Viking Plastics in Corry, PA, is seeking a dedicated assembler to manually assemble and visually inspect finished products, following approved work instructions and control plans. You will measure parts using scales, package them, and keep work areas clean and safe.

The role emphasizes quality, adherence to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001, lean manufacturing, inventory control, and collaboration with the supervisor to report issues, improve efficiency, and complete paperwork and shift-start attendance.

Qualifications

  • Report equipment and output problems to supervisor.
  • Participate in inventory control.
  • Adhere to Viking Plastics’ lot traceability procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Complete paperwork related to production and packaging.
  • Stage skids and prepare materials for the line.
  • Assist others and help give breaks as needed.
  • Grind runners when needed and process scrap according to procedures.

Job description

This position has responsibilities to manually assemble and visually inspect finished products.Include, but not limited to the following :

  • Performing hand-assembly production jobs
  • Being responsible for quality and quantity of parts packed
  • Control plan adherence
  • Adherence to approved work instructions
  • IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 adherence
  • Communicate equipment and output problems to supervisor
  • Efficiency improvements (more good parts per hour)
  • Lean Manufacturing implementation
  • Cleanliness and organization improvement
  • Knowing and follow all safety rules, report any concerns, keep work area clean
  • Knowing how to set and use scales
  • Knowing how and where to find materials
  • Be able to identify parts by size
  • Making boxes
  • Knowing and adhering to Viking Plastics’ lot traceability procedures
  • Reporting on-time for shift start, ready to work and have good attendance record
  • Participate in inventory control
  • Grind runners when needed, process scrap according to procedures
  • Stage skids
