Job summary

Henkel is seeking a hands-on Production Operator for the Consumer Brands unit in Kentucky. You will manage line performance on liquids equipment, monitor SPC data, start production, and respond to alarms while ensuring quality and safety standards are met on the line.

You will also handle changeovers, preventive maintenance support, and training for new team members, with a focus on continuous improvement and adherence to CGMP and other safety procedures.

What you’ll do
  • Manage line performance and priorities related to designated equipment related to the Liquids machines. This includes operation of the automatic descrambler, capper, rotary and heat transfer labeler (in certain areas), seal machine, cap hopper/sorter, automatic drop case packer, case sealer, glue systems, coding system, conveying systems and accessories
  • Oversee operation of software programs to include starting production and completing the filling test; monitoring production and reacting accordingly to alarms during operation; monitoring SPC data; and ending production
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the sequential Control Logic that oversees the operation of the line to include photo eyes; limit switches; and sequencing of filling system, conveyors, cappers, bottle coder, case sealer, case packer and check weigher
  • Use Good Manufacturing Practices to maintain hygienic security on the line, within area and facility
  • Maintain proper inventory of constructed overpacks and labels for packaging lines by keeping machine(s) running
  • Ensure all materials and needed resources are stocked and being used in the correct sequence
  • Coordinate changeovers with team and maintenance resources to identify, troubleshoot and drive improvement projects on equipment
  • Learn and assist maintenance resources with preventative maintenance process on equipment
  • Assist in size changes on equipment
  • Ensure PPE requirements and other safety guidelines are met by all team members including contractors and temporary associates
  • Participate in safety investigations and root cause analysis as needed
  • Track and monitor participation in policy and procedure awareness (LOTO, MSDS, Safety Chatters, Q4S, etc.)
  • Attend and complete required training on policies, systems and procedures
  • Know quality standards and perform and document quality checks to include utilizing SPC; drop, leak and torque testing; and bottle, label, and glue pattern inspections
  • Perform quality inspections of various items including raw materials, soap and ultimately finished goods
  • Ensure quality related training is completed in a timely manner
  • Complete rework of quality holds as needed
  • Ensure equipment is properly calibrated.
  • Hold product if necessary Identify and implement improvements.
  • Coordinating and performing housekeeping/rework functions.
  • Provide training to new team members.
  • Ensure timely completion of required annual trainings (CGMP, LOTO, SWPPP, etc.)

  • Elementary mathematical aptitude (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Must have an awareness of GMP’s to ensure hygienic security of bottles and components.

The hourly pay range for this role is $23.50 and $25.00. This range reflects the good‑faith minimum and maximum hourly rate the Company reasonably expects to offer for this position at the time of posting. This role is classified as non‑exempt, and employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. In addition to the hourly wage, employees in this position may be eligible for shift differentials, premium pay, bonuses, or other forms of compensation, depending on role and location. The Company also offers a comprehensive benefits package as described above. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as the candidate’s skills, experience, training, certifications, and work location.
