Job summary

The Gill Corporation in Maryland is seeking an Operations Training Specialist to design, implement, and manage the plant's training program for manufacturing operators. You will develop curricula, evaluate operator proficiency, and conduct periodic audits to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in aerospace manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years hands-on manufacturing experience; aerospace, composites, or advanced metallic fabrication preferred.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, planning, or scheduling desired.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools; SAP preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to translate concepts into instruction.
• English reading, writing, and verbal communication sufficient to read and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a structured training and OJT program for manufacturing operators, including curricula and proficiency milestones.
• Conduct hands-on technical training for operators on equipment, processes, safety, quality, SOPs, and EHS requirements.
• Evaluate and certify operator proficiency; periodically audit qualified operators for compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Operations to develop and improve SOPs and standard work.
• Identify training gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve efficiency and quality.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, 5S, VSM, time studies, 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
• Maintain audit-ready training and certification records per aerospace quality standards.
• Develop KPIs and report training results; promote safety and continuous improvement.
