The Operations Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality operational, technical, and safety training to frontline employees within the manufacturing environment. This role focuses on consistent execution of approved training content through classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, and on-the-job training (OJT), ensuring employees can perform their work safely, efficiently, and to standard.

Working under the guidance of the Operations Training Supervisoror HR Business Partner, the Operations Trainer supports new-hire onboarding, skills qualification, and ongoing capability development. The role plays a critical part in reinforcing training standards, documenting skill attainment, and providing feedback on training effectiveness and learner readiness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Training Delivery & Facilitation
    • Deliver operational, technical, and safety training using approved curricula, materials, and facilitation guides.
    • Conduct classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, and on-the-job training in alignment with defined delivery standards.
    • Adapt delivery approach to meet learner needs while maintaining content integrity and safety requirements.
    • Support new-hire onboarding and transition employees through structured training pathways.
  • On-the-Job Training (OJT) & Skill Qualification
    • Provide hands-on instruction and coaching to employees during OJT activities.
    • Observe and evaluate trainee performance against defined skill standards and qualification requirements.
    • Support skill demonstrations, practical assessments, andrelatedactivities as assigned.
    • Ensure trainees demonstrate required competency before working independently.
  • Training Documentation & Records
    • Accurately complete training documentation, qualification records, and attendance logs.
    • Ensure all required training records are submitted in a timely and compliant manner within the LMS or designated systems.
    • Maintain awareness of training requirements tied to safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Ensure training spaces, equipment, and materials are prepared, safe, and appropriate for instruction.
  • Model safe work practices and reinforce safety expectations during all training activities.
  • Immediately escalate safety concerns or training risks to the Training Lead,Supervisor, orHR Business Partner as appropriate.
  • Operational Alignment & Communication
    • Coordinate with supervisors and operations leaders to support training schedules and trainee availability.
    • Communicate trainee progress, readiness concerns, or barriers to learning to appropriate training leadership.
    • Support training delivery across shifts or production areas as assigned.
  • Provide feedback on training materials, delivery challenges, and learner readiness to support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in calibration sessions, train-the-trainer activities, and refresher training as required.
  • Demonstrate openness to coaching and ongoing development as a trainer.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for leaders with 1+ years of manufacturing or operations training experience

Edelivering hands-on technical or operational training

  • Train-the-Trainer certification or equivalent facilitation training preferred.
  • Manufacturing, safety, or technical certifications relevant to training in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in an extrusion or plastics manufacturing environment preferred

SALARY

Base Salary Range: $34.44 per hour

The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.
