Job summary

Crucible ETN in East Tennessee is seeking an Operations Trainer to lead competency-based training and onboard apprentices at our East Tennessee mines. You will develop programs for Mine, Mill, Maintenance and Support functions and ensure training mitigates incidents while improving equipment reliability.

This full-time role emphasizes on-site delivery, safety, and continuous improvement, with collaboration across site managers and technicians to meet business goals.

Operations Trainer (East Tennessee Mines)

Key Accountabilities

• Conduct Competency basedtraining andmaintain related records for employees.
• Consult with the Managers and Supervisors to assess training needs and develop programs to meet them.
• Identify training and development requirements by conducting a needs analysis on site results, job requirements, operational problems, business plan, and existing training programs.
• Develop and implement training programs and workflows for Mine, Mill, Maintenance and Support functionemployees.
• Ensure all trainings are conducted to prevent incidents and lower costs of equipment damage.
• Develop methods and tools to measure development and training initiative impact and effectiveness across the sites.
• Facilitate implementation of training programs to ensure success of the business plan.
• Coordinate training schedules,monitorand record training activities/classes (Include training simulator).
• Identify,select, and manage outside resources for training services if needed.
• Facilitate site wide training sessions asrequired.
• Demonstrate safe and environmentally soundbehaviourat all times .
• Must have competencies in schematics, ladder diagrams, troubleshooting manufacturing equipment,demonstratingtraining techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical and electrical systems, safety principles, and a familiarity with predictive maintenance.
• Develop training material by writing, editing, and making proposals to management.
• Develop the course material to implement a successful apprentice technician training program.
• Develop and update training courses as needed.
• Provide classroom and formal on the job training to operators.
• Instruct and directly oversee day to day training of apprentice operators.
• Work to enhance a Preventive Maintenance Inspection, (PMI) program, Work Request Program, Inventory Control Program, and Safety Program to achievetimely, safe, and cost-effective repairs on Crucible ETN fleet by Crucible ETN procedures, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory agencies.
• Identifyhazards and safety risk assessments and develop training to reduce risks.
• Ensure effectiveness of safety risk controls and promote safety measures.
• Develop andmaintainrecords of continued education training for all levels of technicians.
• Work with vendors to implement training offered for specific vehicles/machines or fixed plant.
• Update all training materials as necessary with new models, procedures, or standards.
• Formulates, edits, and initiates maintenance procedures to ensure all necessary information is available to maintenance personnel and that they receive continued periodic and pertinent training.
• Update paper and electronic training files of each mechanic to reflect accomplished training.
• Provide training for internal systems used including work order systems, accounting systems and inventory control and ordering systems.
• Check for quality assurance of fleet or fixed plant serviced and follow up with technicians.
• Maintain proficient understanding of risk management issues and communication ofappropriate informationto other Crucible ETN management staff for implementation.
• Coordinates training and safe operation training of mechanical, transportation, slope maintenance, heavy equipment, and departmental equipment to ensure Crucible ETN's employees are knowledgeable and safe in the use of Crucible ETN fleet or fixed plant. Research andestablishinnovative training methods. Organize training classes to maximize investment in our employees.
