Job summary

Crucible ETN in East Tennessee seeks a Senior Mine Engineer to lead planning for the East Tennessee Mines. You will develop level and stope designs, longhole blast layouts, and short-term schedules, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with geology and production teams to optimize resources, mentor junior engineers, and advance projects from conception to execution in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering with professional licensure preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in mining, with mechanized, high-volume operations.
• Experience with longhole, cut & fill, room and pillar methods is desirable.

Senior Mine Engineer (East Tennessee Mines)

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and present mid and long-range schedules
• Create level and stope designs
• Create Longhole drill and blast designs
• Work with the geological department to increase the mineral resource
• Provide guidance to short term planning/scheduling to ensure alignment to longer term goals
• Establishing and maintaining appropriate communications and relationships within the MTS department to understand their needs and provide advice for Geology and Survey as required
• Establishing and maintaining appropriate communications between the MTS department and other departments by maintaining appropriate relationships and a be-of-service approach
• Work collaboratively with mine production and geology departments and assist other functional areas to achieve their objectives

Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering
• Minimum 5 years in the mining industry
• Experience in mechanized, high volume, low margin mining operations preferably including shallow dipping ore bodies. Experience in shallow dipping ore bodies utilizing cut & fill, room and pillar, and long hole mining methods
• Experience as a mine production engineer or short range planner beneficial
• Experience using Deswik Preferred
• Sound understanding of the functions carried out by the geological and mine engineering departments
• Understanding of technical and operating processes relevant to mine planning and scheduling
• Understanding of technical and operating processes relevant to project planning and scheduling
• Understanding of mining regulation and statutory responsibilities
