Job summary

Landus Cooperative is seeking a motivated team member to join our outside agronomy and grain operations. You will greet customers, support agronomy and grain activities, and help ensure a safe, efficient elevator and feed operations environment.

You will handle grain receiving and unloading, drying, inventory measurement, and loading trains, while maintaining equipment, safety records, and customer service. Some locations may require Class A CDL endorsements and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally 100 pounds.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.
  • Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
  • Participate in DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
  • Good computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers.
  • Assist in all aspects of the elevator operations, if applicable to location.
  • Receiving and unloading grain operations.
  • Grain drying operations.
  • Measuring grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
  • Keeping facility clean, safe and housekeeping records current.
  • Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
  • Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location.
  • Measure inventory and report it to the supervisor.
  • Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
  • Provide customer service and loading chemical product orders.
  • Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
  • Pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
  • Tender to applicators.
  • Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
  • Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.
