Job summary

Landus Cooperative seeks a motivated individual to join our team for outside agronomy and grain operations. You will greet customers, support grain origination, and assist in elevator and chemical operations at location.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds (occasionally 100), a valid license, and a GED/HS diploma. DOT drug program participation and basic computer skills are expected, with seasonal time commitments to match agricultural cycles.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and courteously.
• Maintain and increase agronomy, feed sales, grain origination, and marketing with existing customers and grow with new customers.
• Assist in elevator operations and grain receiving/unloading.
• Manage grain drying, inventory measurements, and train loading operations.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and safety records.
• Assist with fertilizer and chemical operations and report inventory to supervisor.

Overview

We are seeking a motivated individual to be part of the Landus team who will be responsible for our outside agronomy and grain operations. At Landus, you’ll find a fun team atmosphere and a stable career.

What would you do?

• Greet all customers promptly and courteously
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers, as applicable.
• Assist in all aspects of the elevator operations, if applicable to location.
• Receiving and unloading grain operations.
• Grain drying operations.
• Measuring grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
• Keeping facility clean, safe and housekeeping records current.
• Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
• Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location.
• Measure inventory and report it to the supervisor.
• Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
• Provide customer service and loading chemical product orders.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tender to applicators.
• Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Other skills that will help you succeed:

• Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
• Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
• Good computer skills.
