Job summary

Landus Cooperative seeks a motivated individual to join our team overseeing outside agronomy and grain operations at our facility. You will greet customers, support grain origination, manage inventory, and assist in fertilizer and chemical operations while ensuring safety and clean facilities.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds (100 occasionally), and a GED or high school diploma. CDL endorsement and basic computer skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.
• Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
• Good computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers promptly and courteously
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers, as applicable.
• Assist in all aspects of the elevator operations, if applicable to location.
• Receiving and unloading grain operations.
• Grain drying operations.
• Measuring grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
• Keeping facility clean, safe and housekeeping records current.
• Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
• Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location.
• Measure inventory and report it to the supervisor.
• Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
• Provide customer service and loading chemical product orders.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tender to applicators.
• Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Other skills that will help you succeed:

• Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
• Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
• Good computer skills.
