Job summary

Air Products is seeking an Operations Technician for our Ocotillo, Arizona site to oversee safe operation of onsite equipment and safety systems. You will follow quality standards, participate in training, and support continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with EH&S rules.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and the ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule including nights and weekends at a large-scale gas production site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, power generation, industrial gases, military, or related technical environments.
• Experience with DCS systems and industrial process equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices, permit systems, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and adjust plant processes and equipment to maintain safe and efficient production.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues using plant instrumentation, analyzers, and DCS data.
• Perform routine plant rounds, equipment inspections, water treatment activities, and data collection.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain process and pipeline analyzers.
• Maintain electronic operating logs, reports, and documentation.
• Support liquid product storage, bulk delivery systems, and related production activities.
• Issue work permits and perform LOTO activities per safety procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work environment and comply with safety requirements.
• Participate in training, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with development and revision of operating procedures.
