Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking an Operations Technician to perform various plant duties at the Houston Central Natural Gas Complex, ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes. The role requires coordinating with control room operators and shift leads, executing start/stop sequences, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations.

Shift work is required, with potential for overtime and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret basic plant diagrams and manuals.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with control systems (DCS).

Responsibilities

• Make changes throughout Plant units for safe and efficient operations.
• Start, stop and operate pumps and compressors within defined parameters.
• Maintain communications with control room operators and shift lead on operations.
• Ensure compliance with Plant Safety regulations (LO/TO, Hot Work, etc.).
• Train and oversee personnel, including contractors and visitors.
• Troubleshoot facility equipment.
• Create work tickets for repairs by maintenance and E&C.
• Support preventive and regular maintenance of Plant equipment.
• Complete all PMs and Safety PMs as scheduled.
• Participate in safety programs and develop procedures.
• Complete documentation and record keeping.
• Work in compliance with company standards and tariff requirements.
• Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
• Perform all other assigned duties.
• Job level commensurate with knowledge and experience.
