Job summary

Dow has an exciting opportunity to join the LP-7 Operations team in Prentiss (AB, CAN) as an Associate Operator. LP-7 is a Gas Phase Polyethylene facility producing HDPE/LLDPE used for containers, caps and more.

The retrofit supports the Fort Saskatchewan Path2Zero project and a broader CO2 reduction effort. TheAssociate Operator operates equipment, maintains safe operations, and works 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Active ABSA 4th class Power Engineering Certificate is required.
• 2+ years of related operations work experience.
• Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor process equipment and control systems.
• Follow safety, operating discipline and procedures to ensure reliable operation.
• Perform scheduled operational tasks and address unplanned events.
• Collaborate with shift teams to balance workload and meet deadlines.
• Conduct shift relief and handoffs to incoming teams.
• Maintain qualifications and complete training goals in a timely manner.
• Mentor and train other personnel on process operation and troubleshooting.
• Participate in Immediate Response activities and root-cause investigations.
• Track KPIs and identify opportunities to improve plant performance.
• Perform Autonomous Maintenance and some minor repairs as needed.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team program.
