Job summary

RTX is seeking an Operations Technician to work onsite at our Colorado Springs facility. You will support developing and implementing manufacturing processes for aircraft seats and provide technical support to OEM assembly lines and manufacturing cells. You will also help implement process improvements and ensure quality and productivity on the factory floor.

The role requires a high school diploma or AA/AS with at least 4 years of relevant experience, and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required for access to information.
  • Experience with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry preferred (aerospace/automotive).
  • High attention to detail with strong quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support as liaison between assembly/manufacturing and manufacturing engineering.
  • Investigate assembly/manufacturing processes and equipment to diagnose failures.
  • Write Quality Notifications (QN) for part/assembly defects and pursue corrective actions.
  • Review tooling lists for assembly lines and manage work orders and redlines.
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) by verifying setup folders.
  • Investigate FAI part issues and communicate solutions to engineering.
  • Develop tools to aid manufacturing, process improvement, or safety concerns.
  • Research and implement continuous improvement in assigned factory areas.
  • Assist with station loading/line balancing improvements.
  • Contribute to CORE Operating System for quality and productivity.

We are looking for an Operations Technician to work onsite at our Colorado Springs facility. In this role you will support to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods associated with specialty aircraft seats such as pilot, flight attendant, and observer for commercial platforms. You will provide technical support to all OEM assembly lines and manufacturing cells. And you will also recommend and assist in implementing improvements for production processes, methods, and controls.

What You Will Do:

Provide technical support for serving as liaison between assembly/manufacturing and the manufacturing engineering team.

Conduct initial investigation of assembly/manufacturing processes and equipment to diagnose failures and presents information to the manufacturing engineer or manager.

Write Quality Notifications (QN) for part/assembly defects and investigate solutions for Corrective Actions (CA).

Review and update tooling lists for assembly lines and review issues with work orders and redline as necessary.

Complete initial investigation of Versacall issues and recommend a solution to the manufacturing engineering team.

Support First Article Inspection (FAI) coming from the shop floor by verifying set-up folders are correct.

Investigate issues with FAI parts and communicate solutions with the manufacturing engineering team and/or manager.

Help to develop tools that enable manufacturing, aid process improvement or address safety or ergonomic concerns.

Research and make recommendations to achieve continuous improvement in assigned areas of the factory.

Support assembly in improving station loading/line balancing.

Continuously improve quality and productivity using the CORE Operating System.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a high school diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

The salary range for this role is 43,400 USD - 82,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
