Job summary

Gopher Resource, LLC is seeking an Operations Training Instructor to design, deliver, and evaluate training for plant staff. You will develop materials, lead onboarding, and collaborate with SMEs to ensure safe, knowledgeable performance.

Responsibilities include building a trainer network, maintaining training records, analyzing metrics, and coordinating with external vendors. Proficiency with MS Office and LMS tools is required; Intelex experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years in industrial training or an Associate’s Degree in a related field.
  • Experience delivering training across classroom, virtual, and eLearning formats.
  • Experience as a user/administrator of a Learning Management System.
  • Ability to conduct training needs and gap analyses.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to adjust schedule for a 24/7 workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training on procedures, safety, quality, and environmental standards using the Intelex system.
  • Deliver new hire orientation and plant operator training.
  • Build and coach a network of trainers; organize Train the Trainer sessions.
  • Monitor training records, interpret metrics, and drive actions.
  • Contribute to training strategy and specialized development plans.
  • Prepare materials, job aids, CBTs, and presentations in multiple media.
  • Plan courses and collaborate with external vendors on programs.
  • Conduct post-training evaluations to identify improvements.
  • Prepare, deliver, and support audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Overview

The Operations Training Instructor delivers training to all plant employees. This position develops and distributes training materials as well as designs, delivers, and evaluates the effectiveness of courses and materials. This position reports directly to the Director Lab and Quality.

Critical Factors for Success
  • Design, monitor and identify improvement opportunities in the site master training plan to ensure quality training of new and existing employees.
  • Evaluate the quality and content of training courses and provide feedback as appropriate to provide the best quality training to employees.
  • Conduct needs assessments and develop training content alongside subject matter experts (SME) to ensure employees have all the information they need to safely and knowledgeably perform their jobs.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver training on operational procedures, safety requirements and responsibilities, quality processes, and environmental standards and procedures utilizing the Intelex system
  • Deliver new hire orientation and new hire plant operator training
  • Build and support a network of operational trainers; organize \"Train the Trainer\" sessions, provide direction on training needs, and continue to coach and develop them
  • Monitor and maintain accurate training records, interpret training metrics and follow up on metrics findings/actions
  • Contribute to the training strategy and the development of specialized training development plans to operations leadership and training team
  • Prepare and deliver training materials, job aids, presentations, CBT (computer based training), etc. in multiple media forums
  • Plan training courses and collaborate with external vendors on customized training programs
  • Conduct post-training evaluation to identify successes and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare, deliver, and support audits
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by management
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school plus at least 3 years’ previous work experience with the development and delivery of training to industrial front-line workforce in manufacturing setting OR an Associate’s Degree in Communication, Training, Education, HR, Instructional Design, or related field from accredited school
  • Previous work experience with supporting or executing various training delivery methods including classroom, virtual classroom, and eLearning
  • Previous work experience as user or administrator of an Learning Management System
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct training needs and gap analysis
  • Technical proficiency with MS Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Compelling presence and effective public speaking skills to large groups in both classroom and field settings
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally adjust work schedule to accommodate training support for a 24-7 workforce
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Training, Education, HR, Instructional Design, or related field from accredited College or University preferred, but not required
  • Previous work experience with Quality Management Software (like Intelex) preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience with video editing preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements
  • Willingness and ability to wear a full-face respirator mask directly against skin (e.g. clean shaven if applicable), work in a hot/high temperature production facility, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness and ability to comply with safety protocols and company-provided decontamination measures which include utilizing private shower facilities upon leaving the plant environment with or without reasonable accommodation
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $76,632 - $122,408. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives. The market rate for the role is typically at the midpoint of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as candidate qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
