Job summary

West Fraser in the United States (New York area) is seeking candidates for a hands‑on mill operator role within our sawmill, planer mill, kilns, and shipping operations. The position emphasizes safety, reliability, and cross‑functional flexibility across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Willing to work varying shifts including days and nights.
• Able to work across sawmill, planer mill, kilns and shipping.
• Willing to obtain forklift, front end loader and skid steer qualifications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and analytical abilities.
• Commitment to safety and environmental inspections.

• Able to work with orders while giving directions and instructions
• Understand limitations and know when to seek assistance
• Follow through and complete tasks as instructed
• Have mechanical aptitude and analytical abilities
• Perform department safety and environmental inspections
• Follow, maintain, and promote beneficial departmental changes
• Contribute to continuous process improvement

• Able to work well with orders while giving directions and instructions
• Understand limitations and know when to seek assistance
