Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a Planer Supervisor to lead safety and production for the planer mill, dry kilns, and shipping department as a member of the mill’s leadership team.

The role targets individuals interested in a full-time, long-term career in a modern mill environment with opportunities for growth and development. Travel is minimal, and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of prior experience as a supervisor or lead.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrative safety leadership.
  • Excellent team-building and motivational skills.
  • Understanding of accounting and financial metrics for a mill operation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Job description

The Planer Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of safety and production of the planer mill, dry kilns, and shipping department. This role will be a member of the leadership team at the mill.

  • Managing and motivating the hourly workforce in the assigned areas

Required skills you will need:

  • At least 1 year of prior experience as a supervisor or lead
