Penske Logistics is seeking a proven leader with relevant experience and skills to join our team of transportation and logistics professionals. We are looking for a candidate to supervise drivers at one of our locations.

The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.

Position Summary:

Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and the hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities, including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service operations, in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervise processes directly, including people, systems, customer needs, equipment, etc. Manage workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for performance management of direct reports, making corrective actions and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in hiring and customer meetings as necessary.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (hours and days may vary depending on business needs)

Salary: $54,900 - $72,700. Position is bonus eligible up to 12% of the base salary.

Major Responsibilities:

• People: Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained, competent, and understand how their work relates to customer objectives. Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable. Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire. Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance standards; provide coaching and counseling. Motivate and engage associates through team accomplishments and recognition.
• Operations: Supervise logistics operations, including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch, and documentation. Conduct team meetings. Evaluate and recommend process improvements. Assist in training new associates. Provide relief coverage when needed. Maintain knowledge of site operating systems for compliance and exception resolution. Complete records and reports accurately and timely.
• Finance: Ensure compliance with financial policies such as MPG tracking, damages, etc. Understand decision-making's impact on profitability. Manage associates' hours to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.
• Safety: Align daily activities with the safety strategy. Provide safety training, feedback, and conduct safety observations. Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
• Growth/Customer Experience: Understand customer goals and work to meet/exceed them. Communicate our commitment to customers. Identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Fleet/Assets: Plan work assignments for effective fleet use. Ensure safe and efficient equipment operation. Coordinate with vendors and Penske Truck Leasing for maintenance.
