Job summary

Ontario Sports Empire in Ontario, CA, seeks an Operations Supervisor to manage conversion/changeover for concerts, games, banquets and meetings and to support event-oriented prep for shows or sports.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a team to set up, maintain, and operate facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency and guest satisfaction across fast-paced environments. This full-time, non-exempt role requires flexibility for nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Convert facility to concerts, basketball games, banquets, meetings and family shows.
• Assist with event preparation/setup for shows or sports.
• Setup and takedown of basketball courts, staging, risers, and other items.
• Assist with daily maintenance of department equipment such as seating risers, basketball floor and hoops, dressing room furniture, etc.
• Assist during events responding to radio requests for set up, removal, and/or repair of risers and dept. equipment.
• Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and to provide answers and directions as needed.
• Have general knowledge regarding program options and facility events.
• Be responsive to guest concerns and direct to appropriate manager to resolve.
• Responsible for working with a team to convert and prepare the facility for events.
• Complete special projects, daily assignments and other duties as directed by management.
• Exemplify the facility's policies and procedures to all staff and guests.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Position Summary

The Operations Supervisor is an active member of the conversion/changeover crew involved in conversion responsibilities and efficient changeovers between events. Duties require converting the facility to concerts, basketball games, banquets, meetings and family shows in addition to assisting with any event-oriented preparation/setup for shows or sporting events to run safely and efficiently.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Converting the facility to concerts, basketball games, banquets, meetings and family shows
• Assisting with any event-oriented preparation/setup for shows or sporting events to run safely and efficiently
• Setup and take down of basketball courts, staging, risers, and other event-related items
• Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment such as seating risers, basketball floor and hoops, dressing room furniture, etc.
• Assist during event responding to radio requests for set up, removal, and/or repair of risers and dept. equipment
• Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and to provide answers and directions as needed
• Have general knowledge regarding program options and facility events
• Be responsive to guest concerns and direct to appropriate manager to resolve
• Responsible for working with a team to convert and prepare the facility for events
• Complete special projects, daily assignments and other duties as directed by management
• Exemplify the facility's policies and procedures to all staff and guests
• All other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays and long hours as needed)
• Consistent and regular attendance is mandatory
• Knowledge of safe and effective use of appropriate cleaning products
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations

Working Conditions And Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors
• Facility has intermittent noise
• Will be required to operate a computer

Salary: $23 - $25 per hour
