Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown, RI is seeking an Operations Supervisor - OSM to lead daily production activities at the Quonset Point facility. The role focuses on safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives, with accountability for hourly workforce and continuous process improvements.

Responsibilities include assigning work, mentoring crews, coordinating multi-trade teams, and ensuring first-time quality in structural welding processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience at Electric Boat.
• Minimum of 1 year Electric Boat experience combined with a related Engineering degree.
• Minimum of 3 years combined leadership and high-volume experience.
• Working knowledge of re-entry controls/processing and ripouts.
• Working knowledge of SWSS and loading wire procedures.
• Able and available to work all assigned shifts and extended hours, as business needs dictate.
• Strong PC skills including MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of Defense.

Responsibilities

• Daily assignments and coordination of employees to ensure maximum performance, efficiency and quality.
• Organize and assign work to hourly employees to meet safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives.
• Set, assign and measure daily production goals; instruct, mentor, motivate and hold crew members accountable.
• Improve operations; reduce work order span times; streamline processes with multi-trade Supervisors; ensure first time quality.
• Follow re-entry controls/processing and ripouts; support SWSS and loading wire procedures.
• Implement process improvement projects and review production methods and capabilities.
• Coordinate costs, scheduling, training, safety and quality objectives.
• Communicate effectively with subordinates and supervisors, both orally and in writing.
