Job summary

Orca Bio in Sacramento, CA, seeks an Operations Supervisor to lead the Logistics and Cold Chain Operations teams.

You will own end-to-end readiness for live courier runs, vein-to-vein (V2V) performance, and GMP packing in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Reporting to the Logistics Program Manager, you will manage staffing, qualifications, KPI delivery, and real-time disruption response, balancing day and night coverage to keep shipments on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 2+ years of direct people-management experience preferred.
• Experience leading logistics or cold chain operations in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of GMP/cGMP, IATA, DOT compliance and chain-of-custody requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a cross-trained logistics and cold chain team with clear expectations and accountability.
• Be present for active runs, handoffs, and coverage crunches, adjusting hours as needed.
• Balance workload across SAC-01 / SAC-02 sites based on batch volume and demand.
• Run structured handoffs with day/night counterparts to ensure clean transfer of open issues.
• Own vein-to-vein (V2V) performance; monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions.
• Oversee real-time courier coordination, tracking flights, weather, and disruptions.
• Ensure GMP packing, asset checkout, and chain-of-custody in TrakSYS; confirm shipping conditions.
• Maintain qualified shipper inventory and readiness for forecasted demand.
