Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a hands-on leader to supervise dock operations in New Jersey, ensuring on-time, damage-free shipments. The role emphasizes safety, process compliance, and efficient workforce management to deliver top-tier service.

You will guide staff, monitor performance, coordinate with customers, and manage daily scheduling while upholding FedEx policies and OSHA and DOT regulations. This is a full-time on-site position in NJ.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, as well as company policies and procedures, preferred.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead employees to ensure customer satisfaction by moving all shipments on time and damage free.
• Supervise and direct employee work with a focus on quality, customer deliverables and safety performance.
• Monitor safety acts/conditions and apply corrective action as needed.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules for on-time delivery and damage-free service.
• Communicate assignments clearly across the team and with partners.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety standards.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Gather data for reporting and monitor actual performance.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
