Job summary

Penske Logistics in Marion, OH is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a single-location warehousing team, directing hourly staff to ensure daily tasks such as loading/unloading, cross-docking and customer service meet our service and cost objectives.

The role involves scheduling, coaching, safety and compliance, and collaboration with management to improve processes and productivity. 2–4 years of relevant experience and flexibility for peak demands are required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years related experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Strong written/oral communication skills required
• Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Ownership & responsibility to run the operation with urgency
• Ability to connect with associates and external customers
• Ability to manage time and stay organized
• Ability to drive process improvement and lead change
• Experience with inventory management system preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership to hourly workforce to execute daily tasks
• Supervise processes including scheduling, cross-docking, and customer service operations
• Make corrective actions up to written warnings and assist in hiring
• Manage site safety, compliance, and timely reporting
• Drive continuous improvement to meet productivity targets
• Conduct team meetings and coach staff for performance
• Plan and optimize workload and equipment usage
• Collaborate with management to control costs and improve service levels
