Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) at Mennel Bakery Mix and Food Service - Martel. You will lead a hands-on team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, upholding safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, staffing decisions, tracking performance, ensuring GMP/food safety compliance, and applying Lean/TPM methods to drive efficiency and cost control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of operations or manufacturing experience.
• 5 years of related experience preferred.
• Proven leadership in manufacturing.
• Strong decision‑making, planning, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work day shift in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop operations employees to achieve top manufacturing results.
• Ensure food safety, quality, sanitation, GMP, OSHA, HACCP, and FSMA compliance in daily operations.
• Manage daily staffing and resource allocation to maximize efficiency.
• Monitor and report on cost, quality, safety, sanitation, and customer service metrics.
• Serve as a technical and business resource for system operations and product needs.
• Identify process failures, determine root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement using Lean/TPM.
• Provide coaching and corrective action when needed.

Schedule: Full-Time, 12-hour rotating day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) including weekends and potential holidays

What You’ll Do

As an Operations Supervisor, you’ll lead and motivate operations employees while ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing operations during the day shift. You’ll play a critical role in sustaining Mennel’s legacy of excellence and supporting our food safety mission.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, coaching, and developing operations employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results
• Ensuring compliance with all food safety, quality, sanitation, GMP, OSHA, HACCP, and FSMA requirements while maintaining an everyday audit‑ready facility
• Managing daily staffing and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and system utilization
• Monitoring, tracking, and reporting manufacturing performance related to cost, quality, safety, sanitation, and customer service
• Serving as a technical and business resource for system operations and product requirements
• Identifying manufacturing process failures, determining root causes, and driving corrective actions
• Fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement using Lean/TPM principles
• Providing performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action when necessary

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Industrial Technology, or Supply Chain preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of operations or manufacturing experience (5 years of related experience preferred)
• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
• Strong decision‑making, planning, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, physical manufacturing environment and work day shifts
