Job summary

Bombardier is seeking an Operations Supervisor, Aircraft Maintenance to oversee the daily operations of the aircraft maintenance department, ensuring safety, schedules, personnel, and quality. The role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating planned and ad-hoc work, and maintaining strict adherence to FARs and regulatory standards.

Ideal candidates bring substantial experience in heavy/line maintenance, strong leadership, and excellent customer-facing skills.

Qualifications

  • Requires 5 years of experience in aircraft heavy/line maintenance and inspections.
  • Demonstrated leadership in supervising maintenance personnel.
  • Familiar with environmental, health and safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned aircraft maintenance employees and manage daily operations, safety, schedules, personnel, and quality.
  • Coordinate completion of all planned and ad-hoc maintenance.
  • Ensure work complies with Repair Station/FARs and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor housing and facilities safety and report issues.
  • Engage with customers regarding Aircraft Maintenance when required.
  • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

What are your contributions to the team?

Supervise assigned aircraft maintenance employees and responsible for the daily and overall operations of the aircraft maintenance department, to include safety, schedules, personnel, and quality.

  • Encourage and promote a safe work environment by supervising a safety/security program
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities such as performance & development management, time keeping, hiring, dismissals and lead/coordinate daily meetings
  • Coordinate the completion of all planned and ad-hoc maintenance
  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with Repair Station/Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
  • Monitor housing and facilities safety requirements and report any insufficiency
  • Engage with customers regarding Aircraft Maintenance (where required)
  • Identify and communicate best practices and champion continuous improvement initiatives
How to thrive in this role?
  • Have (typically) 5 years of experience in performing aircraft heavy/line maintenance and inspection procedures
  • Be thoroughly familiar with aircraft inspection system & procedures and avionics/electrical work
  • Have leadership experience; Aircraft Maintenance preferred
  • Possess an A&P certificate or certificated under FAR (part 65)
  • Be familiar with aircraft inspection system & procedures
  • Be familiar with Environmental, Health & Safety rules and regulations
  • Have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop people
  • Have strong organizational and planning skills
  • Possess proficient computer skills
