Job summary

Bombardier Learjet Inc. in Opa Locka Service Center is seeking an Operations Supervisor, Aircraft Maintenance to oversee daily maintenance activities, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with customers.

To succeed, bring at least 5 years in heavy/line maintenance, an A&P certificate (FAR part 65), and proven leadership. The role offers a day shift, opportunities for growth, and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in aircraft heavy/line maintenance and inspection procedures
• Familiar with aircraft inspection systems and avionics/electrical work
• Leadership experience; Aircraft maintenance preferred
• Familiar with FARs and Environmental, Health & Safety rules and regulations
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Proficient with computers

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned aircraft maintenance employees and oversee daily operations of the maintenance department
• Promote a safe work environment by supervising the safety program
• Handle performance and development management, timekeeping, hiring and dismissals, and lead daily meetings
• Coordinate completion of all planned and ad-hoc maintenance
• Ensure work complies with FARs and regulatory requirements
• Monitor housing and facilities safety requirements and report insufficiencies
• Engage with customers regarding Aircraft Maintenance when required
• Identify and communicate best practices and champion continuous improvement initiatives

What are your contributions to the team?

Supervise assigned aircraft maintenance employees and responsible for the daily and overall operations of the aircraft maintenance department, to include safety, schedules, personnel, and quality.

• Encourage and promote a safe work environment by supervising a safety/security program
• Perform supervisory responsibilities such as performance & development management, time keeping, hiring, dismissals and lead/coordinate daily meetings
• Coordinate the completion of all planned and ad-hoc maintenance
• Ensure that work is performed in accordance with Repair Station/Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
• Monitor housing and facilities safety requirements and report any insufficiency
• Engage with customers regarding Aircraft Maintenance (where required)
• Identify and communicate best practices and champion continuous improvement initiatives

How to thrive in this role?

• Have (typically) 5 years of experience in performing aircraft heavy/line maintenance and inspection procedures
• Be thoroughly familiar with aircraft inspection system & procedures and avionics/electrical work
• Have leadership experience; Aircraft Maintenance preferred
• Possess an A&P certificate or certificated under FAR (part 65)
• Be familiar with aircraft inspection system & procedures
• Be familiar with Environmental, Health & Safety rules and regulations
• Have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Demonstrate effective leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop people
• Have strong organizational and planning skills
• Possess proficient computer skills
