Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies is seeking a production supervisor to manage and coordinate daily shop activities in Camden, AR. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and meeting customer expectations through efficient labor planning and supervision of production teams.

You will monitor performance, implement improvements, and ensure proper documentation of orders while working with cross-functional teams to meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Organizes assigned area to ensure access to orders in process.
• Communicates with customer service about work in area or incoming work.
• Maintains the shop in a 5S, orderly state.
• Works with management to monitor and improve department performance.
• Plans daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules with Production Management.
• Supervises employees in the shop and trains them on safety procedures.
• Resolves production issues to keep throughput moving and meet customer expectations.
• Contributes to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Understands the Valence Surface Technologies Code of Conduct policy, leading by example.
• Organizes assigned area to ensure ready access to and knowledge of all orders currently in process on a daily work basis.
• Effectively communicates with customer service regarding work that is in the area or coming to the area for processing.
• Maintains the shop in an orderly 5S and well-kept manner.
• Operates within established safety, quality, and financial guidelines.
• Keeps current on project and overall shop performance, understands and monitors department budget, works with manager to resolve problems and plans for improvements.
• Works closely with Production Management and supervisors on other shifts/departments to determine daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules.
• Maintains schedule and reassigns labor as work load changes.
• Maintains and monitors appropriate documentation on all orders.
• Effectively supervises employees in the shop.
• Organizes work to be done and assigns accordingly, follows dashboard requirements while working with customer service to exceed customer expectations.
• Initiates disciplinary actions where necessary according to established procedures.
• Trains employees and monitors their performance on Valence Surface Technologies safety procedures and proper Valence techniques for all production processes and movement of materials in/out/around the shop.
• Resolves technical problems and challenges by involving the appropriate people in order to keep production moving, to meet/exceed customer expectations.
• Participates in improvement teams, Gemba walks, and meetings as requested.
• Participates in continuous process improvement activities, always looking for new ways to do the job with an eye to reducing cost, streamlining processes, and increasing throughput.
• Keeps current on industry trends, innovations, and changes that may affect production operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or less
• Requires frequent standing, bending, grasping and reaching
• Occasional walking, sitting, and speaking
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Safety Glasses
• Sense of sound, touch, and sight
• Work is performed in shop conditions and can be in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Skills & Abilities

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Experience:

3 plus years of experience in manufacturing

Computer Skills:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
