Overview

Location: Suffolk, VA

Summary: The Operations Supervisor is directly responsible for the day to day supervision of the warehouse operation, leading, managing, and assigning the work for non-slab operations. Ensures the timely and accuracy of inbound receipts and material putaway, inventory replenishments, and outbound shipments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all functions on the shift are properly staffed to execute varied work volumes for approximately 15-30 employees.
• Provide direct supervision to the shift leads and front line associates. Hold them accountable for their performance and the performance of their teams.
• Supervise realignment activities to optimize facility staffing.
• Manage operational efficiencies to support continuous improvement goals.
• Ensure on-time shipping performance; collaborate with direct reports to meet quality and accuracy standards for receipts and shipments.
• Provide leadership, training, troubleshooting, issue mitigation, and guidance to the team.
• Develop leadership capability and promote professional growth within the team.
• Oversee facility/equipment upkeep, maintenance, and supplies.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure safety compliance.
• Provide critical communication to internal and external customers.
• Perform regular warehouse audits to ensure procedures and functions meet compliance.
• Maintain and manage housekeeping.
• Other duties as assigned by the organization.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of supervisory experience preferred (Three to Five years mentioned in original).
• Sit-down and stand-up forklift experience a plus.
• Ability to use tablets (iPad), WMS, and navigate internal portals.
• Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel knowledge.
• High School Education required.

Work Requirements

• Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM, 2 Saturdays a month from 07:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
• Physical demands include regularly lifting, pulling, and moving up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 70 pounds; close vision; safety-sensitive position.
