IEM in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a defined production area, ensure safety, quality, and takt-time targets, and drive continuous improvement. This role oversees multiple team leads and coordinates with planning, materials, quality, and maintenance.

The position is in-office, with the plant coming online near San Antonio; temporary base in NE San Antonio and permanent site Brooks, 7515 Inner Circle Dr., San Antonio, 78235. Spanish language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain or related degree.
  • 3-7 years in manufacturing with leadership experience.
  • Experience with takt time, standard work, visual management and daily tier meetings.
  • Proficiency in ERP, Excel, and production dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily execution of production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery and efficiency targets.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate Team Leads and Operators, fostering accountability and teamwork.
  • Ensure adherence to daily build schedules and takt time; raise risks to the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor and track performance against metrics and lead Tier 1 daily management meetings.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Materials, Quality, and Maintenance for work center readiness.
  • Enforce safety, 5S, standard work, and compliance with policies.
  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and upskilling with Learning & Development.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, delivery, or safety issues.

The Operations Supervisor is a first-line people leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of a defined production area (e.g., Framing, Assembly, Integration, Test, or Fabrication). The WCS ensures that all teams operate safely, meet takt time and schedule targets, and deliver high-quality output in alignment with KPIs. This role manages multiple Team Leads and Operators and partners closely with the Operations Manager to identify constraints, support continuous improvement, and maintain flow across the work center.

Note: This position will be based temporarily in NE San Antonio while our new manufacturing plant is coming online. Our permanent location is approximately 25 minutes away at Brooks, 7515 Inner Circle Dr., San Antonio, 78235. The position is also 100% in-office and does not offer remote work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily execution of production activities in the assigned work center to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency targets.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate Team Leads and Operators, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
  • Ensure adherence to daily build schedules and takt time; elevate risks to production targets to the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor and track performance against key metrics (output, defects, rework, attendance, downtime) and lead Tier 1 daily management meetings.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Materials, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure work center readiness (materials, tools, documents, etc.).
  • Enforce safety protocols, 5S practices, standard work, and compliance with operational policies.
  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and upskilling of team members in partnership with Learning & Development.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for issues impacting quality, delivery, or safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or a related degree. At least two years of additional relative experience, including demonstrated leadership, in lieu of a degree will also be considered.
  • 3-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including 1+ years in a formal or informal leadership role.
  • Experience with takt time, standard work, visual management, and daily tier meetings.
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization
  • Proficiency in basic digital tools (ERP, Excel, production dashboards).
  • Strong people leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Understanding of Lean, 5S, and visual factory principles
