IEM in Jacksonville is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead the day-to-day execution of a defined production area. You will ensure safety, meet takt time and schedule targets, and deliver high-quality output while guiding multiple Team Leads and Operators.

You'll partner with the Operations Manager to identify constraints, drive continuous improvement, maintain flow across the work center, and enforce 5S, standard work, and proactive issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain.
  • 3–7 years in manufacturing with 1+ year in leadership.
  • Experience with takt time, standard work, visual management and daily tier meetings.
  • Proven ambition for growth and leadership in a fast-paced organization.
  • Proficiency with ERP, Excel and production dashboards.

  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and upskilling with Learning & Development.
  • Lead or support RCA and corrective actions for quality, delivery, or safety issues.

Job Summary

The Operations Supervisor is a first-line people leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of a defined production area (e.g., Framing, Assembly, Integration, Test, or Fabrication). The WCS ensures that all teams operate safely, meet takt time and schedule targets, and deliver high-quality output in alignment with KPIs. This role manages multiple Team Leads and Operators and partners closely with the Operations Manager to identify constraints, support continuous improvement, and maintain flow across the work center.

Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Jacksonville locations and does not offer remote work.First shift hours are 6:00am - 2:30pm EST.
Essential Functions
  • Lead daily execution of production activities in the assigned work center to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency targets.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate Team Leads and Operators, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
  • Ensure adherence to daily build schedules and takt time; elevate risks to production targets to the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor and track performance against key metrics (output, defects, rework, attendance, downtime) and lead Tier 1 daily management meetings.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Materials, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure work center readiness (materials, tools, documents, etc.).
  • Enforce safety protocols, 5S practices, standard work, and compliance with operational policies.
  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and upskilling of team members in partnership with Learning & Development.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for issues impacting quality, delivery, or safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or a related degree. At least two years of additional relative experience, including demonstrated leadership, in lieu of a degree will also be considered.
  • 3-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including 1+ years in a formal or informal leadership role.
  • Experience with takt time, standard work, visual management, and daily tier meetings.
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization
  • Proficiency in basic digital tools (ERP, Excel, production dashboards).
  • Strong people leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
