Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Dispatch/Dock Supervisor to oversee freight dispatch and dock operations at a 170-door facility. You will lead loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight handling to meet schedules, while ensuring safety and DOT/OSHA compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a high aptitude for technology. You will manage up to 40 drivers and dock personnel, monitor KPI goals, and ensure efficient production

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee freight dispatch and dock operations at a 170-door facility.
• Load, manage forklift traffic, and oversee palletized freight sorting.
• Manage up to 40 local drivers and dock personnel to meet schedules.
• Use independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Monitor trailer cube and weight; ensure safety and compliance with DOT/OSHA.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers and dock staff.
• Monitor dock production and KPI performance; manage hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure company model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in service to customers.

Shift: 10:00am - 8:00pm, Monday - Friday

Salary: Up to $75,000 + bonus (10%)

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee freight dispatch and dock operations within a 170-door freight facility .
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 40 local truck drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
