Job summary

Momentum Transportation USA, an award-winning Landstar Agent, seeks an Operations Specialist Afterhours to manage Friday–Monday shifts in either 8a–7p or 7a–6p. This nonexempt role ensures afterhours and weekend operations meet all customer requirements.

The position covers scheduling, dispatch, carrier negotiations, track & trace, and system updates. Fluency in English is required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• AS400 experience required.

Responsibilities

• Complete accurate and timely scheduling and dispatching of trucks to meet customer demands.
• Negotiate with transportation providers for best rates and service.
• Monitor shipments from pickup to delivery and provide track & trace information.
• Provide ongoing communications of service issues to internal and external personnel.
• Update and maintain transportation management and operations systems.
• Prioritize tasks to focus on issues impacting quality and service.
• Adhere to company standards on customer satisfaction, accuracy and timeliness.
• Proactively identify problems and implement solutions.

Job Summary

The Operations Specialist Afterhours position works Friday - Monday, either 8a - 7p or 7a - 6p. This nonexempt position is responsible for maintaining the afterhours and weekend operations on behalf of the company by taking complete responsibility ensuring that all customer requirements are completely met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete accurate and timely scheduling and dispatching of trucks to ensure that the flow of product in and out meets customer demands.


• Negotiate with transportation providers to obtain the best rates and service.


• Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery so that accurate, up-to-date information can be provided regarding any shipment (track & trace)


• Provides constant communications of service issues to appropriate personnel and departments, both internal and external


• Update and maintain transportation management and operations system.


• Prioritizes tasks and workload to focus on issues that directly impact quality and service performance.


• Adheres to company standards on customer satisfaction, accuracy, and timeliness.


• Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solutions.


• Provide complex problem resolution and provides guidance to others.


• Utilize specialized industry and company computer systems and procedures, reference materials/documentation and personal industry knowledge to process client shipments.
