Job Summary

The Senior Operations Specialist works independently and autonomously to identify, lead, and manage initiatives that support organizational strategies, operational excellence, and business objectives. This role has a strong emphasis on operational systems development, data analytics, and executive-level communication, including the creation of presentations, reports, and strategic materials that support leadership decision-making. Responsible for the development, implementation, and support of programs and projects that drive operational efficiency, enhance productivity, improve quality, reduce costs, and support continuous improvement. The Senior Operations Specialist leverages data and insights to identify opportunities, develop operational solutions, monitor performance, and influence strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with leaders across the organization to manage day‑to‑day operational needs while advancing long‑term business goals and transformation initiatives.

Essential Functions

• Provides operational leadership for new and existing programs, projects, and strategic initiatives. Leads the development, implementation, enhancement, and optimization of operational systems, processes, and tools that support business objectives and organizational priorities.
• Collects, analyzes, interprets, and presents operational, productivity, quality, financial, and performance-related data to identify trends, measure outcomes, and develop actionable recommendations that improve operational efficiency, increase productivity, enhance quality, and reduce costs.
• Develops, maintains, and utilizes reporting tools, dashboards, databases, and analytics solutions to support operational performance monitoring, business planning, and data‑driven decision making.
• Prepares and delivers executive‑level presentations, reports, business cases, scorecards, and communication materials that summarize operational performance, strategic initiatives, key findings, and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders.
• Directs, organizes, and participates in process improvement, workflow redesign, and operational transformation initiatives. Identifies opportunities for improvement and leads the development and implementation of sustainable solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and customer experience.
• Serves as the operational lead for workflow transformation and strategic business initiatives by providing project management, structure, coordination, and direction. Develops and manages action plans, project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of organizational priorities.
• Establishes and documents operational processes, procedures, and workflows. Creates and maintains documentation, standards, and best practices to support consistency, compliance, and long‑term operational success.
• Ensures required documentation, reporting, data collection, and system utilization activities are completed accurately and timely. Monitors performance metrics and communicates progress, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
• Leads compliance‑related activities to ensure services are provided in accordance with federal and state regulations, organizational policies and procedures, accreditation standards, and other applicable requirements.
• Collaborates with leaders, physicians, clinicians, and cross‑functional teams to support operational planning, program implementation, performance improvement, and achievement of strategic goals.
• May lead initiatives that span multiple departments, service lines, or business functions and require coordination across diverse stakeholder groups.
• May provide operational guidance, mentorship, and support to team members and may serve as interim leadership as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, healthcare administration or related field
• 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred

• Master's Degree
• 5 years of proven leadership
• 5 years of experience in healthcare and working within in an organization of size and complexity comparable to Corewell Health
