Position duties and responsibilities:
- Review export and import documents for accuracy
- Prepare and present Letter of Credit Documents
- Dispatch import and export loads and cargo pick-ups, confirm cargo delivered to carrier or cosignee
- Track import and export shipments and advise customer of potential schedule changes if applicable for the client
- Prepare export documents, file AES and Bill of Lading Instructions, file AMS/ISF/ACI if applicable, process entries prior to vessel and customs cut-offs.
- Ensure timely distribution of transport documents and billing of freight
- Negotiate rates with carriers, utilize MAO rate management systems to quote via our service contracts and provide quotes to customers
- Problem solve with the Branch Manager when situations arise that can or do negatively effect our clients and their customers
- Communicate with all parties in a transaction in a clear, concise, professional manner
- Above all, provide outstanding, uncompromising customer service
Requirements
- Knowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding US Exports and basic knowledge of imports
- Country Requirements competence
- Letter of Credit knowledge and experience preferred
- Good transportation background, FCL, LCL, rating, routing, documentation
- Ability to work in a fast paced demanding environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Export experience minimum 2+ years
- High school diploma, 2 or 4 year college degree beneficial
