Location and Schedule

  • This position will report onsite to Denver International Airport.
  • The shifts will consist of 4, 10-hour days or 5, 8-hour days, which include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Scheduled hours may be a day, swing, or overnight shift based on bid.


What You'll Do

As a key member of our operations services team, you will coordinate and oversee facilities related but not limited to daily janitorial services, waste services, window cleaning and pest control to ensure ongoing compliance with contracts related to airside and landside operations services. Your role involves conducting site inspections, coordinating contractor activities, and emergency response to irregular operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors janitorial services, waste programs (trash/recycle/compactors), and other daily operational activities and programs to ensure that work is performed in compliance with established contracts, airport rules and city regulations. Regularly monitor staffing and performance to ensure adherence to standards. Assist airport stakeholder by managing, coordinating, and resolving issues that may arise during emergencies, irregular operations, and unusual situations such as weather impacts, spills or flooding.
  • Exercises discretion in applying appropriate corrective and/or enforcement options to a specific situation, including issuing “stop work” orders, notices of violation, requesting recompletion of substandard work product.
  • Reviews program operations for compliance, identifies program strengths and weaknesses and problem areas of non-compliance, recommends corrective action to individuals and groups on proper methods and procedures for compliance with program regulations.
  • Explains policies, processes, applicable laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines specific to a program to resolve problems, functions as an information clearinghouse for program questions, and provides information and advice to current and potential program participants on program issues and requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive airside and landside facility inspections to ensure that all areas meet are free from excessive debris, spills and hazards while ensure efficient movement of passengers, employees and equipment throughout the facility. Direct corrective actions when needed to ensure timely return to service, especially during impactful operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate with airport stakeholders and contractors to ensure ongoing compliance and coordinate work during emergency operations. Lead and manage contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that all activities are aligned with the contract requirements and meet the operational standards.
  • Review and approve shutdown requests for maintenance activities related to janitorial, window cleaning, pest control, and waste management services. Ensure these activities are carried out with minimal impact to airport operations. Perform minimal repair and replacement of restroom dispensers, etc. to support daily operations.
  • Provide training to airport stakeholders, contractors, subcontractors, and airport staff on janitorial services, waste management, etc. ensuring awareness of best practices to enhance operational efficiency and contract compliance.
  • Address complaints and concerns from contractors, airport users, and tenants, offering prompt resolution in a professional and courteous manner. Assist passengers and provide direction as necessary, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Identify and report hazardous issues that impact daily operation as related to janitorial services, waste management, window cleaning, etc. Coordinate appropriate maintenance activities to address deficiencies promptly and safely.
  • Conduct regular audits and inventory checks of chemicals, consumable supplies and equipment necessary for contractor performance, ensuring availability and proper management of resources.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reports, databases, and required contract documentation. Provide timely status reports to ensure seamless oversight and communication between Airport Operations Services team, contractors, airport management, and stakeholders.


What You'll Offer

We are looking for individuals who exhibit strong attention to detail, a high degree of self-accountability, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. In addition, candidates should demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work 10-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Contract Compliance and Management Experience: At least 2 years of experience in reviewing and monitoring multiple contracts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Vendor Performance Management: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with vendors to assess key performance indicators (KPIs) and improve contract performance.
  • Contract Management Software Experience: Proficiency with Maximo or similar Contract Management Systems.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Power Bi and other software related to data management and administration.
  • Project Coordination: Experience working with project managers and contractors to ensure program requirements are met.
  • Emergency Response: Ability to remain calm and effective during emergency situations.


Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of administrative or technical support experience evaluating contracts for compliance with standards driven by some combination of service, performance, and financial criteria.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of education may be substituted for each required year of experience.
  • License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.


FBI Background Check

FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.

Shift Work, Snow Duties, and Emergency Incidents

This position does require shift work as DEN is a 24/7/365 operation (includes nights, weekends, and holidays). Mandatory extended/additional shifts can be required. Additionally, this position is required to work mandatory snow duties, which vary and can include nights, weekends and holidays.
