Job summary

Labcorp is seeking an Operations Scientist II in Madison, WI to support bioanalytical sample preparations, document study records, and communicate with project managers and lead scientists on projects daily. This role follows a Monday–Friday day shift, plans workload and schedules multiple assignments, and contributes to continuous process improvement in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Qualifications include a BS/BA in chemistry, biology or a laboratory science field and 1+ year of lab

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in chemistry, biology or laboratory science required.
  • 1 year or more experience in a laboratory setting.
  • GxP documentation experience preferred.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct bioanalytical sample preparations.
  • Document work and maintain study documentation and laboratory records.
  • Communicate with project managers, lead scientists, and supervisor on projects daily/weekly.
  • Order consumables for projects as needed.
  • Plan assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively schedule multiple assignments.
  • Provide detailed sample analysis and inventory updates to project managers and lead scientists to ensure projects meet timelines.
  • Set up, operate and perform routine and non-routine maintenance on general equipment.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment.
  • Participate in client visits as needed.

Job Description
Operations Scientist II

Work Schedule - Mon - Fri (Day Shift)

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct bioanalytical sample preparations
  • Document work and maintain study documentation and laboratory records.
  • Communicate with project managers, lead scientists, and supervisor on projects daily/weekly
  • Order consumables for projects as needed
  • Plan assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively schedule multiple assignments.
  • Provide detailed sample analysis and inventory updates to project managers and lead scientists to ensure projects meet agreed upon timelines
  • Set up, operate and perform routine and non-routine maintenance on general equipment
  • Attend and participate in project meetings
  • Support process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment
  • Participate in client visits as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) degree in chemistry, biology or laboratory science degree.
  • 1 year or more experience working in a laboratory setting (e.g. balances, pipettes, centrifuges etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) degree in chemistry, biology or any laboratory science degree.
  • 2 years or more experience working in a laboratory setting (e.g. balances, pipettes, centrifuges etc.)
  • 2 years or more experience with analytical instrumentation (for gas, liquids or solids)
  • 1 year or more GxP Documentation experience
  • Computer Experience (e.g., Word, Excel) or LIMS
Additional Job Standards
  • Experience working multiple projects in various stages at the same time
  • Ability to handle a fast paced environment
  • Organized and detailed communication
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience working in a variety of study types, analysis procedures and methodology projects

Posting Open - 8/27 thru 8/31/26

Pay Range: $25-$28 per hour.

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
