Job summary

Year Up United is seeking an Operations Specialist to improve site efficiency by defining new processes and managing facilities, external relations, and staff support. You will mentor students, join weekly sessions, and collaborate with teams to meet site needs in a fast-paced environment.

The role is on-site with hybrid flexibility, requiring two in-office days weekly in New York. The hourly position offers a clear path to impact and organizational growth within Year Up United.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of work experience in an office environment.
• Available to be in office 5 days per week.
• Strong acceptance of change and willingness to lead through change.
• Experience creating or modifying processes.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Passion for working with young adults and commitment to Year Up's mission.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and cultivate external vendor relationships.
• Create efficient systems and processes across teams.
• Maintain facilities and general office support.
• Manage supply ordering, track budget, and ensure up-to-date emergency procedures.
• Process staff expense reports through Concur, correctly coding items.
• Support site technology infrastructure with the National IT Team.
• Coordinate staff meeting logistics and provide executive support.
• Serve as a coach/mentor for a small group of students.
• Join and facilitate weekly sessions with students.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
