Qualifications

Job Description

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

The role of the Ops Specialist II is to oversee and manage programs/projects within Operations responsibility. He/she serves as the liaison among various functional groups within Operations and as the single point of contact between Operations and the rest of the company. This role includes overseeing different program phases, from development to transition to production and ongoing production. The Ops Specialist II assists in preparing project execution plans, identifies necessary resources, reviews project status and budgets, manages schedules, and develops resolutions for issues. The Specialist leads cross-functional teams, collaborating with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Program Office, and Finance, providing technical and analytical guidance. Ultimately, the Specialist manages program cost, capacity, quality, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Operations Program Manager in monitoring performance against the baseline plan, focusing on quality, schedule, and costs.
  2. Gather, interpret, and present Operations data clearly to management and stakeholders.
  3. Generate operational plans and schedules using departmental standards and tools like Excel and MS Project.
  4. Participate actively in meetings, providing direction and developing solutions to moderate scope problems.
  5. Ensure program compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  6. Maintain interpersonal skills across all levels of the team and support functions.
  7. Participate in cost tracking, proposal development, and variance analysis.
  8. Review project performance metrics and develop corrective plans as needed.
  9. Lead and coordinate operations during all phases, from proposal to delivery.
  10. Ensure efficient resource utilization to meet program goals.
  11. Serve as the single point of contact for program status and issue resolution.
  12. Support preparation of estimates and cost proposals, ensuring competitiveness and accuracy.
  13. Communicate changes impacting tasks and support audit and negotiation processes.
  14. Promote teamwork and maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  15. Support management reviews and future planning activities.
  16. Generate and oversee manufacturing plans, review change orders, and monitor supply chain activities.
  17. Manage vendor relationships during production and review pricing to stay within budget.
  18. Assist with customer visits, proposals, and future business development.
  19. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and strategic analysis.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership and influencing abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage complex issues, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management tools
  • Results-oriented with experience in decision-making and cross-functional teamwork
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 5+ years of aerospace experience
  • Master's Degree, PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
  • Familiarity with SAP, Solumina, Tableau
  • Experience in a represented workforce environment
  • Strong analytical and process improvement skills
Pay and Benefits

Salary Range: $84,882 - $144,300. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, and other perks.
