Job summary

Brady Corporation, a global industrial technology leader headquartered in Milwaukee, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer - Master Data to establish manufacturing standards and build SAP data for stock offerings. The role partners with R&D during new product launches and leads change management within Operations to optimize part planning and production flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer.
• Lean manufacturing experience and knowledge with pull systems, TPM, one-piece flow, Kanban, POU, standardized work, batch reduction, visual controls, and 5S.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of ISO-9001 quality management systems.
• Strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to drive change; manufacturing/printing/converting experience preferred.
• SAP, CAD/AutoCAD proficiency; Microsoft Access, Smartsheet, and Illustrator helpful.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or ASQ CQE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish part configuration and manufacturing standards for new product offerings.
• Manage change processes including ECOs and ACOs.
• Create finished goods and tooling drawing layouts in AutoCAD.
• Lead associates and promote participation in process development/improvement.
• Ensure smooth production flow and implement standard work for Master Data.
• Drive continuous improvement in Master Data departments.
• Develop training systems and support documentation for associates.
• Lead projects in manufacturing areas and provide area leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field

Six Sigma Green Belt Training Certification and/or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer

Strong lean manufacturing skill set with experience implementing lean methodologies/tools

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Knowledge of ISO-9001 quality management systems

Proficiency with SAP, CAD software, AutoCAD

Job description

What We Need

The Manufacturing Engineer - Master Data is responsible for establishing manufacturing and part planning standards for Operations. This position works closely with R&D as new product lines are launched by building SAP data for stock offerings and determining planning rules for custom parts. In addition to new product launches, this position is also responsible for change management within the internal Operations team. This role requires refined project management skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lead technicians and/or hourly associates that may not report directly to the incumbent.

What You'll Be Doing

• Establish part configuration and manufacturing standards for new product offerings in conjunction with new product development engineers.
• Responsible for change management processes including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Add/Change/Obsolete requests (ACOs).
• Create finished good and tooling drawing layouts within AutoCAD software.
• Provide leadership to key associates to promote participation and cooperation in process development/improvement initiatives.
• Responsible for smooth product production/constant production flow.
• Create, document and implement standard work for Master Data departments.
• Responsible for continuous improvement activities within the Master Data departments.
• Develops training systems and support documentation for associates.
• Provide leadership in assigned areas as well as lead projects in other manufacturing areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer
• Strong lean manufacturing skill set and knowledge with experience implementing lean methodologies/tools (pull systems, TPM, one-piece flow, Kanban, POU, standardized work, batch reduction, visual controls, and 5S)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of quality management systems, specifically ISO-9001
• Must be a strong team player
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to drive change
• Printing and/or converting industry experience preferred
• Proficiency with SAP, CAD software, AutoCAD preferred
• Ability to use Microsoft Access, Smartsheet, and Adobe Illustrator
• Six Sigma Green Belt Training Certification and/or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
