Job summary

Xcel Energy seeks a senior safety leader to drive a strong safety culture across utility operations. You will partner with Safety Consultants to implement continuous improvements, lead safety meetings, audits, train staff, and investigate incidents.

Responsibilities include expanding crew effectiveness, managing performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with bargaining units and departments to meet reliability and financial goals.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in design, construction, operations, engineering or maintenance of utility systems/power generation plants or related industries/fields or equivalent.
• Associates or technical degree preferred.
• Operational knowledge of work and asset management and analytical/reporting applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible safety leadership and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Drive real-time safety accountability through meetings, briefs, audits, training and investigations.
• Evaluate team performance using operational metrics and ensure process adherence and data integrity.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and drive adoption of process changes.
• Provide leadership over crew effectiveness, quality and productivity.
• Oversee compliance with Xcel Energy policies, labor agreements and regulatory standards.
