Talent Edge Recruiting seeks an hands-on Operations & Production Manager for a metal manufacturing facility in Akron, OH. This onsite role leads daily shop-floor activities, drives throughput, and ensures on-time delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will manage staffing, coordinate with maintenance, use production boards and Excel, and foster continuous improvement in a small, private company environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years hands-on metal manufacturing experience preferred, not required.
• No degree required; relevant technical training/certifications a plus.
• Comfortable in a smaller manufacturing environment, close to the floor.
• Relocation assistance for the right candidate (local preferred).
• Salary: $90,000–$110,000/year, DOE.

Responsibilities

• Own daily operations and lead the team; manage staffing, workload, throughput, and on-time delivery
• Run a first-in/first-out workflow via production board and Excel; set priorities
• Hold employees accountable for procedures and documentation; ensure quality/customer specs are met
• Troubleshoot production issues; coordinate maintenance and preventative maintenance
• Partner with the Office Manager/quality-manufacturing function and leadership
• Maintain a safe, organized shop and drive continuous improvement
• Microsoft environment (Excel, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint); comfortable with spreadsheets.

About Our Client

A small, privately owned and growing metal plating manufacturer in Akron, OH, serving automotive, aerospace, and general industrial customers. Mission: error-free, on-time plating with continuous improvement.

Our client is seeking a hands-on Operations & Production Manager to lead the Akron facility day-to-day — owning the shop floor, keeping jobs moving, holding the team accountable, and driving quality and delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Own daily operations and lead the team; manage staffing, workflow, throughput, and on-time delivery
