Job summary

Our client, a small privately owned metal plating manufacturer in Akron, OH, seeks an hands-on Operations & Production Manager to lead the day-to-day shop floor, keep jobs moving, and drive quality and delivery.

You will own operations for about six production lines, manage a ~9-person team, and work onsite (100%). The role offers a $90,000–$110,000 salary DOE and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, 401K, PTO, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on plating/electroplating experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in manufacturing, machine operations, production or operations management in a technical environment.
• Local Akron, OH candidates preferred; onsite work required.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations and lead the ~9-person team.
• Manage six job-shop production lines and a rotating production mix.
• Run a FIFO workflow via production board and Excel; set priorities and keep jobs moving.
• Manage staffing, workflow, throughput, quality, documentation, and on-time delivery.
• Hold employees accountable for procedures and documentation.
• Ensure quality expectations and customer specs are consistently met.
• Troubleshoot production and process issues; coordinate maintenance and preventative maintenance.
• Partner with the Office Manager/quality-manufacturing function and leadership.
• Maintain a safe, organized shop and drive continuous improvement.

Compensation: $90,000–$110,000/year, DOE

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

Relocation: Considered for the right candidate; local preferred
